When driving into Nord-Odalen (North Odalen), its sign used to - appopriately, be punctured by gunshots. The locals were called Indians - or Native Americans. The people living in Sør-Odalen (South Odalen) used to be called cowboys. The north even had a totem pole at some point.

Nowadays not many use the term any more, but you can still see stickers on old cars and motorbikes. Some say it's Norway's poorest commune and the people living there say they have to create their own fun. There is no police station and the landscape is mostly forest.

Anders Ødegård has driven motorbikes for years winning many championships. Now, soon 16, he can finally take the licence to drive on the road.
